A graveside service will be held, Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at Fort Hill Memorial Park at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Grooms and Rev. Bernard Camden officiating. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The American Kidney Association or Thomas Terrace Baptist Church.

Wylene Tweedy McGuire, 83, passed away, Wednesday, May 13, 2021 at Lynchburg General Hospital. She was the wife of George McGuire, Jr. for 67 years.

She was born in Lynchburg on October 10, 1937 to Mr. and Mrs. Ocie Hunter Tweedy, Jr. She was a homemaker and attended Thomas Terrace Baptist Church. She was a loving wife and mother.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Karen Hale (Billy) a son, Brian McGuire and grandchildren, Phillip Hale (Amy), Kimberly McGuire and Tracy Pickeral (Michael), Kayman McGuire and a great-grandchild, Noah Pickeral; two sisters, Wanda Baldock and Darnell Crouch (Alan); daughter-in-law, Erica McGuire and many other relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her parents, a son, Darrell McGuire and a daughter-in-law, Kimberly Osborne McGuire, brothers, Irvin and Bobby Tweedy.
