A celebration of Reggie’s life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, in the chapel of Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg with Pastor Ray Kingrea officiating.
Due to Covid the family asks that no visitors come to the residence at this time. The family will be providing a meal for friends and family to take home in place of a repass.

William Reginald “Reggie” Mack Smith Sr., 79, of Forest, VA, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 2, 2021. He was the loving husband of Linda Audrey Jones Smith for 51 years.

Reggie was born Thursday, February 26, 1942, in Williamston, NC, a son of the late James Oscar Smith and Alice Mack Little Smith. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam receiving a Purple Heart, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. Reggie was also retired from Tomahawk Warehouse.

In addition to his wife, Reggie is survived by his daughters, Regina Smith Robinson (Carl) of Lynchburg and Trina Smith Gordon (Bobby) of Florida, his son, William Reginald Mack Smith, Jr. (Natasha) of Forest; brothers, Albert Lee Smith of Newark, NJ, Sr., Dallas Smith (Belle) of Montgomery, AL, and Jerry Lewis Smith (Shirley) of Paterson, NJ; his sister, Joyce Smith Belton (Frank) of Paterson, NJ; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a special “son” Ralph Terry Bowles of Lynchburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Pete Smith, Edward Earl Smith, and Frank Smith.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that you make memorial contributions to a charity of your choice.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
