William Frank Rauh passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Mamie Rauh and his sister, Peggy Barnes.

Bill was a graduate of Tennessee High School in Bristol, Tennessee and the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee, where he was a member of the Phi Kappa Alpha fraternity.

Bill was associated with T.B. Dornin Adams Company and retired from the Montague Betts Company, both of Lynchburg, Virginia. He was a Thirty-Second Degree Mason and Shriner. Bill served as a Sunday school teacher for many years for high school and college age students at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. He was a volunteer at Virginia Baptist Hospital for over eighteen years. Bill was active in the Boy Scouts of America and was an Eagle Scout. He was a member of Forest Presbyterian Church in Forest, Virginia.

Bill was a licensed pilot, and enjoyed sailing on Smith Mountain Lake where he and his wife Diana had a home for twenty years.

Bill is survived by his wife of 62 years, Diana Woodson Rauh, one son, William Rauh, Jr. (Valerie Pate Rauh) of Chesapeake, Virginia, and two daughters, Mollie Rauh Crie (Robert Wilfred Crie) and Jenipher Rauh Willoughby (Jeffrey Emory Willoughby) both of Forest, Virginia. He leaves a lasting legacy in his six grandchildren: William Frank Rauh, III of Chesapeake, Virginia, Daniel Pate Rauh (Jessica Lee Simpson) of Winston Salem, North Carolina, Greylyn Crie Koestner (John Jeffrey Koestner, Jr.) of Buford, Georgia, Bobbi Anna Crie (St. Clair Reeves La Roche) of Forest, Virginia, and Jeffrey Emory Willoughby, Jr. and Joshua Rauh Willoughby, both of Forest, Virginia. Bill was very proud of his great-grandson and newest addition to the clan, Maxwell Jeffrey Koestner of Buford, Georgia.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at 10 am at Forest Presbyterian Church. Bill married his beloved wife, Diana, on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 62 years ago. Please consider wearing or carrying something green in honor of Bill and Diana on this special day. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or Forest Presbyterian Church.
