Mr. William Edward Cashwell, Jr., a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, departed this life on Saturday, December 22, 2018.
William, a.k.a. “June”, was born on June 25, 1942 to the late William and Elizabeth Cashwell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his three brothers, Otis, Walter, and Thomas Cashwell; a sister, Laurel Marie Bailey; and a daughter, Darlene Howard.
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife of 46 years, Mary Cashwell, and from that union one daughter, Evelyn Cashwell of Maryland. He also leaves his two children from a previous marriage, Darnell Cashwell and Christine McAdams (Jimmy) of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren with one on the way; one brother, James Cashwell (Ethel) of Maryland; one sister, Ella Brown of Washington, D.C.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and best friends Aubrey Payne and Williard Mock.
A celebration of William’s life will be held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at Mt. Shiloh Baptist Church, Monroe, Va. at 11 a.m.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
