Violet Maxine Colwell Spotts, 88, of Moneta passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 20, 2019. She was the loving wife of the late Lewis Henry Spotts. Jr.

Born in Beloit, Kansas on October 31, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Rhomlus Rex Colwell and Mabel Mae Bussart. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Violet leaves behind to cherish her memory her sons: Lewis Henry Spotts, III, Lewis Berry; daughters: Sandie Spotts Berry, Patti Hunter and Denise Smith who she considered her daughter. Her brothers Dale Davis and wife, Donna, Larry Colwell and wife, Linda and sister-in-law: Betty Martinez and brother-in-law Jimmy Martinez. Her grandchildren blessed her life- Jason Hunter, Jon Hunter, Chamonix Berry, Beaux-Neige Berry, Kelsey and Donnie Scruggs, Carson and Miranda Spotts, Stephanie and Michael Herrera, Spencer Spotts and Brett Eslinger, Steve and Chelsea McDaniel whom she considered her grandchildren as well. As well as 11 beautiful great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.

Violet was very strong in her Christian faith; she was a woman of prayer who enjoyed reading her bible. She loved spending time with her family, and she went on several cruises which she loved with Sandie and Lewis Berry and beloved family members and friends. She loved gospel and country music, bowling was her favorite sport and spending time with her loved ones.

Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford conducted by Rev. Les Whealton. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

The family welcomes all who were touched by this beautiful, loving and spiritual gift to the world.
