Terese Katherine Linton, 79, of Amherst, Va. passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018.

Terrie was born in New York City, N.Y. on June 6, 1939, the daughter of the late Joseph Vokral and Alma Vokral. She graduated with a B.A. from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. Terrie was a true artist starting at an early age and found great joy in painting. Her artwork has won recognition in juried shows and galleries in NJ and Virginia. She was a member of the The Amherst Women’s Club, Prior President and Vice President of Amherst Art Society, Virginia Watercolor Society, Secretary of The Antique Auto Club of Lynchburg, and became a Master Gardener in 2003, and the Hill City Master Gardeners included her work on the cover and within Cooking with the Masters. She painted a mural in the Amherst Museum, and “ArtMeters” for the town of Amherst as well as notecards of local landmarks. Her work is currently on display in the Amherst Public Library and has been featured in numerous art shows and public spaces.

She is survived by her children, Lorraine Levinson and husband, Dan, of Greenwich, CT, Robert Linton and wife, Susan, of Forest Hills, NY, and Tricia Holden and husband, George, of Amherst, Va.; grandchildren, Alex and Charlotte HoldenBrian, Mark and Patricia Levinson; and great-grandchildren, Declan and Edwin Levinson. She was predeceased by her husband, Donald Nunziato and her brother, Joseph Vokral.

Terrie was forever optimistic and her family always said she had on “rose-colored glasses”. This trait served her well during her brief battle with leukemia. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Pearson Cancer Center, especially Dr. Cecilia MacCallum, for their warmth and care.

A Celebration of Terrie’s Life will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Madison Heights Chapel on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 12:00 noon. The family will receive friends following the service.

In lieu of flowers please consider making memorial contributions to The Amherst Woman’s Club/AWC, P.O. Box 1493, Amherst, VA 24521.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Madison Heights, is assisting the family.
