Teresa Jo Stallings was called home to Heaven on Friday, April 22, 2022. Teresa was born in Illinois on October 15, 1943. She was preceded in death one year ago by her son, Eric Stallings. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 58 years and 10 months, Bryce Stallings, her daughter Tammy Short and son-in-law David Short, sisters Dru Keel, Jackie Kennedy and Vicki Brasel. She also leaves behind the lights of her life, granddaughters Julie and Laura Short who lovingly ushered her into the arms of Jesus.

While Teresa had many varied talents and accomplishments over the course of her lifetime, her family and granddaughters were her absolute pride and delight. Being a grandma brought her immeasurable joy and she helped to create an idyllic, blissful childhood for her girls.

A small graveside service for both Teresa and Eric will be held at Forest Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 27th at 1 o’clock, with pastor Tom Bryant officiating. Pallbearers are David, Phillip and Brandon Short, Jack Bobbitt, Jim Burnette and David Wagoner.

Our family would like to extend our sincere thanks to all who supported all of us with their calls, texts, cards and prayers. In addition, we want to express our immense gratitude to our Centra Hospice Team and specifically our nurse, Teresa Mottley. Nurse Teresa became a beloved member of our family and she treated our Teresa with the uttermost devotion.

When you think of our precious Teresa, please reflect on the following verse. We found this verse on a note among the items that she kept closest to her.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
