She was born and raised in Miami, Florida to George Rowland Brown, III and Ann Katherine Anthony. She moved to Virginia as a young woman in pursuit of the country life. Tammy was an avid animal lover. Her farm in Huddleston is full of animals that she has rescued over the years.
