“Faye” Jennings, 68, departed this life at INOVA Fair Oaks Hospital in Fairfax, Va., to her eternal home on June 10, 2019 after a brief attempt to recover from a brain injury.

Faye was born on June 11, 1950 to the late Garland Russell “Bud” Francis and Louise Coates Francis of Spout Spring, VA. She spent her childhood years growing up in Charlotte County, Va. and attended Randolph Henry High School.

Faye married Joseph “Joey” Jennings and shared 44 years of her life as his “Doll”. They made their home in Lynchburg, Va., where she spent many hours outdoors tending to her beautiful flowers that she enjoyed so much. Faye’s warm, people personality made her many close friends over the years and every one was always welcomed into her home at all times. She made the best deviled eggs and bread pudding in the south and loved preparing home-style meals for her family and friends. She loved to dance and attended many dances around Lynchburg while she was able.

Faye worked most of her adult years at Hills Department Store in Lynchburg, Va. She made wonderful memories during her time there and stayed in touch with many of her co-workers after the store closed. She also worked at Ames, Value City, and Mail America Communications.

Faye is survived by sisters, Lois (Gene) Epperson of Lynchburg, Va. and Edith (the late Lonnie) Trent of Evington, Va., son Christopher (Amy) Barksdale of Warrenton, Va. and daughter, Nicole Jennings of Rustburg, Va.; grandchildren, Summer Hall, Ashley Barksdale, Tyrelle Brandon, Abbie Rae Barksdale, Bryson Brandon, and was eagerly awaiting the birth of Baby Boy Barksdale in July.

Faye was preceded in death by her sister, Jean Guthrie of Lynchburg, Va. and nephew Keith Mayhew of Lynchburg, Va.

She was affectionately called, “Aunt Faye” by her nieces and nephews, and shared a very close relationship with her niece, Candice Burnett. Faye was also very grateful for the tremendous love and support of her friends, Michael and Karen Manley of Lynchburg, Va.

A Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg on Thursday, June 20, 2019. A Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 21, 2019 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, Va.
