“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”

 (Revelation 21:4 KJV)

Samuel Edward Pannell, affectionally known as “Butch” departed peacefully on Saturday, February 2, 2019, at home.

He was joined in Holy Matrimony to Evangelette Pannell July 12, 1986 at New Dimensional Church of God in Christ in Bedford, Virginia, and later joined the church under the leadership of Pastor I. L. He was ordained as a Deacon at Bountiful Blessings COGIC in the year of 2001.   One of the happiest times of his life was his 55th Birthday, to his surprise when the National Renowned Gospel Singer, Rev. Luther Barnes called him up on the stage to sing with him at the University of Lynchburg!

Butch loved sports; especially the Philadelphia Eagles. He was notably excited when they became the Super Bowl Champions in 2018.

In his spare time, he enjoyed listening to Rhythm Love and Soul which consisted of Patti LaBelle, Heat Wave, Commodores, Chi-Lites, Stylistics, O’Jays, Temptations, Evelyn Champagne King and many more Classic Masters of the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s.

He adored his 2 grandchildren and god daughter. Butch loved his family and has always put their needs first. He has worked at Alliance Industrial Corp for 20 years.

Butch was a devoted husband, always wanting to make “La-Baye” smile. According to Butch if she wanted the world, he would give it to her. He loved everything about his family and was very proud of them all! Butch loved his family and has always put their needs first.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his wife, Evangelette of 33 years, daughters Ashley Pannell and Samantha (Lamar) Claxton, two grandsons, Lamar Jr., Jackson, goddaughter Allure Hall, three sisters Shirley M. Pannell, Patricia A. Dawson (Charles), Gaynell E White (James) and one Brother Michael A. Calloway.  He was preceded in death by his mother Ernestine Pannell, Sister Gloria, and Brother William.
