Reading through all the sympathy messages posted, it has to be clear to anyone what a wonderful person Ryan was. Words like “gentle person”, “always willing to help”, “ True gentleman“, “a great laugh“, “warm smile“, “made us all feel welcome“, “the heart of North Shore“, and more, help paint the picture of who Ryan was. But he was more; Ryan had that extra special something that makes him unforgettable, and makes his loss so devastating to us all. Ryan brought the North Shore Golf Club to life. Rest in peace Ryan, I’ll miss you.

Really enjoyed knowing Ryan while he was on the golf team with my son Kevin, and then later when he was working at Ivy Hill Golf. I think the thing I remember most about Ryan was that he always had a smile. He was a joy to be around. Our prayers are with your family. Dan and Brenda Johnson

It's been quite awhile since we have been in contact, but as soon as I heard about your son's unexpected passing, I immediately remembered your love, commitment and strength you took and gave to your family. It's one of the things that made you such a great asset to Liberty students you taught and mentored within CASAS. Please accept my condolences and know that prayers will be lifted up in the coming days and weeks as you travel through this with family and your loving Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.

So sorry for your/our loss of this young man, quite the gentleman and know how proud his family must be of his character and accomplishments . His North Shore family will miss him dearly as he was an inspiration to all of us with his warm smile and caring attitude. Guests at North Shore golf will unknowingly miss him as well because Ryan doubtless never met a stranger which speaks further of his character and asset to this community. Rest in peace young man, you will surely be missed.

When we lived in Lynchburg, VA, Ryan was our neighbor. He would come over and hang out with our son Chad. They were good friends. I remember Ryan and Chad riding their dirt bikes around the yard and jumping the road leading to Mitchell's house. Good memories. Thank You for the time you spent with our family! Ryan, you are now home where we all will be one day. May God Bless the Hansen Family with peace and comfort during this very sad time.

It is weird how lives intertwined. We met you at the beach, well the Tiki bar, but had mutual friends back home in Bedford County. You always had a smile on your face and would sometimes lean back to study the situation before engaging. Glad you enjoyed every moment of your life. Sending love, hugs, prayers, and light to those whose lives you impacted.

Ryan was an amazing loyal friend to many and always had a smile that I will never forget. I had just spent time with him and he was so happy about his job his friends and his life at the beach. We often talked about his family and there is nothing he loved more. I feel like I have lost a son but I am also so thankful god allowed him to be in my life. I am better for it. I love you Ryan. Prayers for your Mom and brother. Rest easy Buddy!
