Rickie Lee Akers, Sr. went to be with the lord on August 30, 2021, in his home in Bedford, VA. with his wife Lora by his side.
Rickie was born in Roanoke, VA, to the late Claude Akers and Aileen Akers in addition to Rickie’s parents, he was preceded in death, by his son, Willie Ray Akers. Rickie loved spending time with his family, enjoyed vintage cars, and working on his lawn.
In addition to Lora R. Akers, his wife of 42 years, he is survived by two sons and two daughters. Ricky Lee Akers Jr., Randy W. Akers (wife Jessica R. Akers), L. Christine Massie (husband Justin Massie), Ashley Akers (husband Sam Strouth). His brother Eddie Akers (wife Linda Akers) as well as many adored grandchildren, sisters, other relatives, coworkers, and friends.
Celebration of life will be held and announced by family.
