Phyllis Beard Martin, 71, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 5, 2018. She was the wife of Ronald M. “Ronnie” Martin for 55 years.

Phyllis was born on April 15, 1946, in Lynchburg, a daughter of late Clarence Alan Beard and the late Irene Campbell Beard.

Along with her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Lisa Dawn Martin of Lynchburg; a sister, Helen Nichols of Lynchburg; and two brothers-in-law, Roger Martin and his wife, Phyllis, of Appomattox, and Frank Martin and his wife, Ruth, of North Carolina; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother, Annie Burnette Beard; her son, Ronald Lee Martin; and a grandson, Jamie Lee Burns.

A Celebration of Phyllis’ Life will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at First Christian Church with the Rev. Cyd Cowgill officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Fort Hill Memorial Park.
