A funeral mass will be conducted at 11:00 am on Monday, December 20, 2021, at Resurrection Catholic Church with Father Nixon Negparanon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Paul Douglas Liga, 75, of Moneta, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2021, at UVA Medical Center. He was born on May 31, 1946, in Newburg, NY to the late Joseph Daniel Liga and Catherine Griffin Liga.

Paul was a devout Christian who lived his life serving the Lord. He attended Resurrection Catholic Church regularly. Paul worked for many years at the Department of Defense as a financial analyst before retiring to Smith Mountain Lake. He was an avid reader, his favorites being military and thriller novels. In addition to reading, he loved boating and fixing all kinds of things. He loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sharon Anne Liga; children, Steven Liga and wife, Diane, Susan Gagnon and husband, Bill, Brian Liga and wife, Susan, John Liga and wife, Wendy, and Michael Liga; grandchildren, Derrick, Paige, Jacob, Michael, Bradley, Josie, Nicholas, Abbie, Jordan, Brayden, Isabella, Elinor; and four brothers and four sisters.
