March 10, 1948 - July 28, 2021

The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday August 1, 2021, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m.  on Monday, August 2, 2021, in the Chapel of Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg. Interment will follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Casual clothes recommended by Wayne.

Great man .he was called the Mayor of White rock Hill . He ran 3 different locations of the store during my years growing up on the Hill. He was there for me and my family through many life events good and not so good. When I lost my Mom he made sure he came by to pay his respects. I saw Him and Diane in Sam's not long ago and we chatted. It did my heart good and I thank God today for giving me that closure with him. Not know that would be our last time greeting one another. Thankyou family for sharing him with the White Rock Hill family .He will always be spoken of in a good way among many residents and neighbors who reside in the area and some who still are there like myself. Blessings to you all. He fought the good fight. Now go run that store up in he4aven. See ya when I get there. Peace to all. The Mosby , Burford and Crawley Family's

I remembered Wayne when he owned White Rock Market on Florida Avenue. He was a great man. He used to talk to my oldest son all of the time which is now deceased also. My prayers are with the family.

Wayne was my friend since childhood around 14, and l always loved him. I always called him my boy friend and Darlene did not care, she knew I loved him. I will miss him, and always remember we always smiled when we saw each other. Darlene, l am so sorry and I know you and him loved each other so much, you will truly miss him.
