Share your Memorial with Family & Friends
Landon, our Hero departed from this life on May 10, 2018 when God sent His Heavenly Angels to gather him up and carry him Home to Heaven. In the presence of his Mother, Father, and many family members with hands clasped together, with a twinkling of the eye his courageous battle with cancer was won and he has eternal peace; freedom from suffering and pain.
Landon was so pure hearted and cared for others above him. The bravery and courage to face all he did far exceed any we will ever have. As parents knowing he probably didn’t feel the best many times we would ask him how he felt and get “GOOD”. He never wanted anyone worrying about him. Just the other day before he lost his ability to carry on a long conversation I asked him as he was laying there looking up at me how he felt and his reply was “good dad”. I asked him how he felt in his heart and he simply stated “I can beat this”. We can say without any doubt this sweet boy did just that. He never gave up fighting and never ever gave up hope. Landon knew Jesus in his heart and prayed often and we know even though his earthly journey has ended our child still lives in Heaven where there is no cancer. He’s up there doing all the many wonderful things he loves to do. Landon loved music, singing, he loved fishing, farming with tractors and riding his go-carts. He was a very talented young artist and enjoyed painting, coloring, crafts, building Legos, doing puzzles and playing games. He also always enjoyed visiting his favorite restaurant Cracker Barrel. He had a deep and constant love for all those around him which would shine through even on his most difficult days. The love for his little brothers and many cousins was unmeasurable.
Landon was born on February 20, 2007 to Sarah Martin Ayers and John Wayne Mason. The unconditional love he shared with his parents and family was beyond comprehension. His wisdom and understanding were appreciated by those who love him.
Landon, was and will continue to be the Farm Manager, for his Papa Mason. His love for John Deere Tractors and work ethics on the farm were a joy. His ability to calmly feed the cows without fear was indescribable. When he was two years old he rode with Papa, raking and bailing hay on Dr. Lee Saunders farm. His love for equipment and ability to operate machinery was a feat to watch.
Landon is a Junior Honorary member of three Masonic Lodges: Mackey Masonic Lodge No. 69, Staunton River Masonic Lodge No. 155 and Campbell Masonic Lodge No. 316. He is an honorary member of the Evington Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the John Deere Gold Key Club, visiting that facility in Moline, Illinois. He was a student at Yellow Branch Elementary School.
In addition to his mother, Landon is survived by Stepdad, Willie Ayers; two younger brothers, Liam & Oliver Ayers; his very special Great Granny Helen Lowe, who loved him very much; PawPaw Bernie & Granny Peggy Martin, Nanny Alice Smith and Mrs. Jane, and PaPa Leroy Ayers; Aunts & Uncles Jackie (Chris) Burley, Becky (Jonathan) Mitchell, Maggie Martin, Bubba (Jenny) Ayers, Becky (Jocat) Conner, Liz Ayers (Miguel Gutierrez); Great Aunts, Debbie (J.
