Kenneth Eugene Kidd, 57, of Madison Heights, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 13, 2019. He was the husband of Myrna Burton Kidd of 18 years.
Kenneth was born on April 18, 1962 in Lynchburg to the late Elwood Clayton Kidd and Shannon Crist McChesney.
He lived life to the fullest. He loved to explore the Appalachian Mountains, to fish, to hunt, and to build. He was a master carpenter who could build anything one could think of. He loved to spend time with his daughter and grandchildren as well as the rest of his family. The most important things in his life were the Lord, his wife, and his family.
Along with his wife and mother, Kenneth is survived by his daughter Misty Kidd Simpson and her husband, Jonathan; his grandchildren Breanna, Blake, and Blair; his step-son Everette Silver; his step-grandchildren Charles and Cape; his brothers Wayne, Michael (Tiffany) and Vincent Kidd; his sisters-in-law Pam Miller (Larry) and Phyllis Cerella (Tony); his step-father Barry McChesney; his step-siblings Brian McChesney, Dawn Fulcher, and Jackie Viar; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his father, he was preceded in death by his sister Sheila Mooney; and a brother Timothy Kidd.
A celebration of Kenneth’s life will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Tree of Life Ministries at 5 p.m. with Pastor Mike Dodson officiating.
Memorial contributions in Kenneth’s honor may be made to Amherst County Humane Society.
