Jimmie grew up on the family farm in Turkey Mountain VA, as one of 13 siblings. He later went to school and became a master carpenter and builder, and he worked as a carpenter his whole life. He took great pride in his work, and his craftsmanship still stands in the many homes in the area that he helped to build. His passion was all things outdoors and he spent as much time as he could there. He loved hunting, fishing, and raising gardens. He also loved football, NASCAR, playing his guitar and telling stories of hunting and fishing! He was larger than life and will always be remembered as such. He will be greatly missed by all his family and loved ones.

There will be a visitation at Tharp Funeral Home, 220 Breezewood Drive,  Lynchburg VA on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, from 6 – 8PM.  His family will be present to welcome loved ones.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the American Heart Association.

Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
