Janet Lou Hoffman passed away November 17, 2021, at the Lynchburg Health and Rehabilitation Center after a brave battle of cancer. Born May 25th, 1939, in Baltimore County, she spent most of her life in Hampstead, Maryland. Janet moved to Virginia in 2013. She is preceded by her parents William Thompson and Valeria May Rhoten-Thompson-Blessing, stepfather William Blessing, brother James Lee Thompson and granddaughter Jennifer Lynn Hoffman.

She is survived by Kim Moreau (Tim) of Virginia, Darryl Hoffman (Susan) of Oklahoma. She has four surviving grandchildren, Derek Massicott of West Virginia, Amanda Hoffman of Oklahoma, Claudia and Alison Moreau of Virginia. Two great-grandchildren, Hayden, and Trevor of Oklahoma. Janet is also survived by two stepsisters, Judy (Blessing) Conway of Illinois and Bonnie (Blessing) Kern of Maryland.

Janet retired from Black & Decker after 36 years. Post retirement she worked for a veterinarian office for 5 years and volunteered at Carroll Hospital Center for approximately 20 years.
