A graveside service will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 at 2:00 pm. at Virginia Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. H. O. Tom Thomas officiating.
Jimmy will lie in repose at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

James “Jimmy” Steven Yeatts, Sr. 84, of Goode, passed away on Friday, February 26, 2021 surrounded by his family.

Born on May 11, 1936, in Campbell County, He was the son of the late Clarence and Lora Yeatts.

Jimmy served as an Airman in the United States Airforce, retired from the Lynchburg Foundry and was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church.  He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and was loved by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Steve Yeatts Jr.; siblings, Bernard Yeatts, Clarence Yeatts Jr., Loreen Stephens, Dorothy Cofer, Evelyn Scott, and Clara McCormick.

Jimmy is survived by wife of 62 years, Hollis Yeatts; children, Debra Emmerson (Tim), Vickie Yeatts (Craig) and Timmy Yeatts (Nichole); grandchildren, Travis Emmerson (Emily), Courtney Emmerson, Daniel Lee (Casey), Peyton Yeatts (Hilari), Stevie Yeatts.  great grandchildren, Gavin Creasy, Colt Emmerson, Ryder and Blakeleigh Yeatts and Ivy Jean Yeatts; siblings, Ruby North, and Becky Jo Mack; a special niece, Terry Stinnett, a devoted family friend Teresa Collins and his special buddy, Andy.

A graveside service will be held Monday, March 1, 2021 at 2:00 pm. at Virginia Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. H. O. Tom Thomas officiating. Jimmy will lie in repose at Tharp Funeral Home Lynchburg on Sunday, February 28, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.

Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.

Hollis and family , We are so very sorry to hear of Jimmy’s passing . Caring thoughts are with you all on the days and months ahead . He was a good man and I loved joking with him about things . God Bless , Paul and Angie

Hollis I worked with your sister Estelle, Debra , and your special niece Terry for years at CVTC. God works in many ways, I haven't looked at a news paper in over a year . Something just told to get one yesterday and I seen Mr. Yeatts obituary . May god be with you all during this time.

I am blessed to have known Jimmy. His loving spirit touched all who knew him and he will leave a presence that will be with those he loved forever. My deepest condolences.

Hollis and family, so sorry to hear of the passing of Jimmy. He was a great man and loved by all. He always (as well as the rest) treated us like family and we still think of you this way too. I know you all will miss him so much. I’m sure he left you all with great and cherished memories; you all are in our prayers, My God guide you through this time. Love to you all RIP Jimmy
