James Douglas Holt, 77, of Lynchburg, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 3, 2020. He was the husband of Dixie Holt for 57 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Louise Puckett Holt; and his brother, Larry Holt.
In addition to his wife Dixie; he is survived by his children; Debra Carter and her husband Glenn, Renee Draney and husband Patrick. and James Gregory Holt, eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, two sisters; Betty Trent and Martha Lawrence.
Services will be held at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg, at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2020. Interment will follow in Virginia Memorial Park.. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to: Marsh Memorial United Methodist Church, 804 Leesville Road, Lynchburg Va. 24502
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
