Jacqueline “Denny” Yvonne Allen, 61 of Amherst, Virginia departed this life on Thursday, September 3, 2020 surrounded by family and friends.

She was the daughter to the late Geneva Allen and Cosby Johnson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Queenie Myers and two nieces Sharasha and Whitey Allen.

Jacqueline was a member of St. James Baptist Church, which she joined at an early age.  She was employed by Flippin & Seamon, Sliver Creek Orchards, and Hardees.  She loved family and became a mother figure to her siblings after the passing of their mother.  She also played an essential role in raising and spoiling her grandchildren, who were her heart.

Denny leaves to cherish her memory a devoted life partner of over 30 years, William Bagley.  Two Sisters; Arlene Allen and Shirley Myers (Jonny); Eight Brothers: Wayne Allen (Wanda), Lincoln Allen, Earl Allen (Delores), Roy Lee Allen (Michelle), William Allen (Samantha), Joseph Allen (Jewel), Marvin Allen (Shirley), and Keith Allen (Sharon).

She also leaves two sons: Melvin Allen (Tarra) and Jamie Allen (Gina).  Two Daughters: Arlene “Rea” Allen (Jimmy) and Patricia Allen (Roger).  Three Stepchildren: Katrina Josey, William Bagley, Jr., and Consuela Sparrow.  Fourteen grandchildren: Xavier Allen, Laterrian Allen, Tevyn Allen, Trevon Allen, Jayden Allen, Keondre Allen, Tyshawn Allen, Alexis Allen, Jameriur Austin, Mylasia Austin, Nizaha Allen, Lauryn Washington, Bobby Washington, and Tatiana Cisneros.  Five great grandchildren: Kayden, Aiden, Malaki, Zyir and Zaniya.  Along with a host of other family and friends.

A memorial service will be held Friday, September 11, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Tharp Funeral Home Madison Heights.
