Gertrude May Wright, 78, of Evington, VA, was called home on Sunday, January 26, 2020.  She was the wife of the late Francis Xavier Wright for 28 years.

Born Sunday, December 07, 1941 in Baltimore, MD, Gertrude was a daughter of the late Frances Frederick Nevins and the late Eva Wier Nevins.

Gertrude is survived by her son, Michael Wright, of Evington, a brother Charles Nevins, of Evington, and a special friend, Carolyn Godsoe.

Gertrude was a nurse who spent her life caring for others. She was inspired to teach others to learn sign language, so they could help others. She enjoyed playing bridge, riding on the parkway, the simple pleasures that God gives us in life. A Godly woman who loved her Lord and her church, Thomas Road Baptist Church, she will be missed.

According to her wishes there will be no services.

 Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
