Several years ago I met David at the Princeton Wv welcome center as he was traveling to Roanoke to see his son. . We formed a friendship and he would come to visit me at least once a year. It started when he asked me to send him a baseball schedule for our area . I have sent one every year since then and we sent each other Christmas cards and all. I just got the card I sent to him with a new schedule returned today and went to google.... He had became a friend of mine and I am very sad to see this. Thoughts and prayers for your family. I am sincerely sorry and I will miss seeing him.

It was my privilege and honor to know David Joe Pierce. When I preached at Central Christian Church and as well as Mt Zion Church, he would attend many times and we visited a lot as volunteers for Hospice of Guernsey. When I was helping with the Leatherwood Valley Senior Citizens he attended and was such a blessing and we talked many times about his life and times and going to school with my father Allen Eschbaugh. He will be greatly missed. We will keep David Joe Jr in our prayers

I’d like his son and family to know y’all are all in my prayers and thoughts, David was one of my favorite residents, he was such a kind soul and he will definitely be remembered I’ve never had a resident in my 11 years of being a Cna stop me as I’m helping them and tell me thank you, and I’ve also never had a resident say the Lord’s Prayer with me and ask the lord to bless me and that stands out to me more than anything! The generosity he had for everyone around him was very amazing! I’m very sorry for your loss!
