Denton Keith Bryant, 64, of Evington, died Tuesday, October 22, 2019.  He was the husband of Laura Wilson Bryant for 36 years.

Born Tuesday, May 24, 1955 in Radford, VA, Denny was a son of the late Norman Keith Bryant and Beulah Lyons Bryant.

In addition to his wife and mother, Denny is survived by his children, Carter Bryant and his wife, Amy, their children, Justin and Abagail, of Temple, TX, Connor Bryant, his wife, Jenny, and son, Liam, of Forest VA. He is also survived by his sisters, Becky Steed (Mike) and Diane Miller (Barry), his brother Bill (Kathy), his mother in-law, Mildred Mason, of Colonial Heights, VA, his brother in-law, Ronald Wilson, of Fredericksburg, VA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Denny’s first priority was his family and his presence was larger than life. The influence he had on others was immeasurable and his intellect, sense of humor, and quick wit were apparent to all who knew him. Throughout his life, he pursued his love of golf, wine, and cooking. He also enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, serving and mentoring many young men in the Boy Scouts. While in California, he enjoyed visiting wineries and going to San Francisco Giants games with family and friends. He greatly cherished the time he had with his grandson, Liam, who lovingly knew him as “Boompa.” He considered those he worked with family, often recalling the good times he shared with them. He always had the best advice and could often be found working on crossword puzzles and sudokus. If someone had a question, he always had an answer. Known for his sarcasm and many “Denny-isms,” you knew you were special if you ever received a call that started with, “It’s me, it’s me, it’s Denny B.” He was well-loved and will be missed dearly.

A celebration of Denny’s life will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at Timberlake United Methodist Church with Pastor Brad McMullen officiating.

Memorial contributions and flowers may be sent to Timberlake United Methodist Church, 21649 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.

Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg, is assisting the family.
