Our dearly beloved Charles E. “Boots” Arrington, 76, of Lynchburg, died Wednesday, April 25, 2018. He was the husband of Barbara Moses Arrington. He was devoted to his family and friends; touched many lives; and will be deeply missed.

Charles was born in Bedford County on November 10, 1941. He was a son of the late John Wesley Arrington, Jr. and Reaver Gillespie Arrington. He was a graduate of Boonsboro High School and a member of Boonsboro United Methodist Church. He loved to paint, read, and fish. Charles retired from the US Postal Service.

Charles was preceded in death by his wife of 37 years, Della Martin Arrington; grandson, Kevin Edward Arrington; brother, Bobby and several in-laws, nephews, and a niece.

In addition to his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his sons Doug (Karen) Arrington and Chuck (Ginger) Arrington; daughter, Cheryl (Robby) Middleton; grandchildren Kaleigh (Jake) West, Parker (Mikayla) Middleton, Benjamin Arrington, Alaina Middleton, and Wesley Arrington. He was proud to say he had a great-grandson, Jennings West. He is also survived by his step-children, Ness Falls and Priscilla Triplett and their children.   Boots has two brothers, Dennie (Bea) and Pete (Dot) Arrington; and three sisters, Dot Sandifer, Iris Little, and Peggy (Butch) Tyree. He has many nephews, nieces, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law from his late wife’s family and friends he loved dearly.

A memorial service for Charles will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at Tharp Funeral Home, Lynchburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior and other times at the home of his son Doug. Interment will follow at Virginia Memorial Park.
