Benjamin Franklin Yancey “Benny”, 62 of Lowesville passed away Friday August 24, 2018 at the Veteran’s Hospital in Salem. He was the loving and devoted husband of Mary Campbell Yancey for 37 years.

He is also survived by his mother-in-law Claudine Campbell. Benny was born in Hinton, WVa., August 22, 1956. A son of the late Billy Franklin Yancey and Betty Ratliff Yancey Loving of Monroe. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps for three years and he worked for 26 years at the Boral Brick Company. Benny was a farm boy, he loved gardening and farm animals. He also loved the mountains, camping, fishing, and hunting.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons; Allen Yancey (Jessica) of Shipman, Corey Yancey (Kassidy) of Gladstone, and Billy Yancey of Madison Heights, two daughters; Armanda Yancey of Amherst and Crystal Jones (Mike) of Staunton, twelve grandchildren, whom he all loved dearly.

In addition to his mother he is survived by three brothers; Jerry Yancey of Gretna, Danny Ray Yancey of Lynchburg, and Michael Yancey of Sandstone, WVa. Four sisters; Billie Meador of Beckley, WVa, Vicky Kuhn of Beckley, WVa, Tonya Sprouse of Amherst, and Robyn Haskins of Lynchburg.

In addition to his father he was preceded in death by two brothers; Richard Yancey and Keith Yancey.

A Celebration of Benny’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday August 31, 2018 at Eternal Baptist Church on Thomas Road in Madison Heights with Pastor Sidney Wade officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. also at Eternal Baptist Church.
